Education in Emergency Specialist

The role:
Based in Ukiya with frequent travel to Cox’s Bazar, the Education in Emergency (EiE) Specialist will be responsible for the oversight and management of Education response and budget. S/he will communicate frequently with EiE Lead and the ERM for expenditure, reporting and donor compliance. S/he will communicate with the Education team members, partners if any as well as with government officials at local level. He/she will take proactive stance in identifying and mitigating Child Protection related risk in the implementation of the project interventions and will represent Plan at sub District Level (Ukiya). She/he will provide support for development/adaptation of learning packages and tools, including Teachers training package.
The major responsibilities and task for the position are:
- Conducting assessment
- Assist EiE Lead, Cox Bazar Team to prepare grant proposal and developing EiE program plan
- Response Management and Implementation
- Response Reporting & Evaluation
- Information management and Co-ordination
- Human Resources and Administration
The person:
University degree in Education, Social Sciences or related field with good knowledge of International Refugee, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. Experience with participatory approaches to education, and preferably emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area is a plus. 3 years of experience in education sector preferably in humanitarian context. Experience in working with refugees or IDPs is a plus. Proven project management skills, including monitoring and evaluation for emergency education projects; training, capacity building with module development skills on the technical areas of Education are essential requirements of this position. Fluency in English and Bangla (both reading and writing). Prior experience of working in greater Chittagong Division and knowledge of Chittagong or Rohingya is a plus.
Duration of the position is Six months with possible extension.
